Spacious Rural Home
Our roots began in Newton, where our company founder lived for the first five years of his marriage, previously living here for about five years before that. Our founder has purchased, renovated and sold approximately a dozen homes in the area. In addition, our founder was on the Newton Planning Commission for about 5 years, has sat on a non-profit board as well as the Code Review Board for several years. We then expanded to service the area of Marion.
As a leading Home Builder, we are excited to share this recent Rural Home we built for your Marion neighbors.
Informed Decisions About Building A Home
At Heritage Home Works, we understand that this is a big project; there is a lot of information out there, and it can be difficult to make sense of it. One of the things we enjoy most about what we do is the opportunity to educate homeowners so they can make the most informed decisions about building a new home. We are proud to share all the considerations we take even when building a Rural Home such as the one you see here. Our goal is to ensure you know we made the best decisions for your home and family. Here we show a rendering, foundation plan and first floor plan.
OPEN & SPACIOUS
Front door leads to an open living, dining and kitchen area. The open stairwell helps extend the airy appeal.
CLEAN & FUNCTIONAL
Tile to the ceiling completes the look for this large kitchen area. Floating shelves and a large window amplify the kitchen’s open-concept design.
PLENTY OF ROOM WITH A GORGEOUS VIEW
From the moment you enter the house, there is a sense of tranquility when relaxing and looking out any of the windows.
REFRESHING TO START & END THE DAY
The spa-inspired bath features a walk-in shower with a rain head and elegant Onyx base and walls, a large soaker tub with a view, and a vanity complete with a makeup area.
BASEMENT LIVING
A large window in window well brings in natural light to make this large living area in the basement even more enjoyable.
REST & RELAXATION
Moving from the main living areas, the bedrooms continue the home’s well thought out design. The master bedroom is on the main floor while additional bedrooms are in the basement. Notice the window well to allow egress - very common in Kansas.
OUTDOOR LIVING
Plenty of room to enjoy the fresh air and morning sunrise and evening sunsets either on the front porch or large covered patio.
Here we take you through some of the construction milestones, beginning with the completed excavation and ready for footings.
Footings poured.
Here you can see the drain tile (white socked pipe) before the road gravel is placed. The backfill is in progress. Note the sand at the bottom of the foundation that allows water to travel to the drain tile more quickly (it's under the sand). This is a very important detail when backfilling. We generally use coarse sand called "road gravel" for this portion.
Backfill and under slab plumbing complete. Ready for flatwork.
Flatwork poured.
Ready for the standing seam metal roofing. We always measure for this after framing, as it is made to order, hence the delay in installation. Framing and roofing complete. Ready for siding.
Painting in progress then ready for floors.
