Marion County Home Builder Shows Rural House

Spacious Rural Home

Our roots began in Newton, where our company founder lived for the first five years of his marriage, previously living here for about five years before that. Our founder has purchased, renovated and sold approximately a dozen homes in the area. In addition, our founder was on the Newton Planning Commission for about 5 years, has sat on a non-profit board as well as the Code Review Board for several years. We then expanded to service the area of Marion.

As a leading Home Builder, we are excited to share this recent Rural Home we built for your Marion neighbors.

Informed Decisions About Building A Home

At Heritage Home Works, we understand that this is a big project; there is a lot of information out there, and it can be difficult to make sense of it. One of the things we enjoy most about what we do is the opportunity to educate homeowners so they can make the most informed decisions about building a new home. We are proud to share all the considerations we take even when building a Rural Home such as the one you see here. Our goal is to ensure you know we made the best decisions for your home and family. Here we show a rendering, foundation plan and first floor plan.

OPEN & SPACIOUS

Front door leads to an open living, dining and kitchen area. The open stairwell helps extend the airy appeal.

CLEAN & FUNCTIONAL

REST & RELAXATION

Moving from the main living areas, the bedrooms continue the home’s well thought out design. The master bedroom is on the main floor while additional bedrooms are in the basement. Notice the window well to allow egress - very common in Kansas.

Here we take you through some of the construction milestones, beginning with the completed excavation and ready for footings.

Here you can see the drain tile (white socked pipe) before the road gravel is placed. The backfill is in progress. Note the sand at the bottom of the foundation that allows water to travel to the drain tile more quickly (it's under the sand). This is a very important detail when backfilling. We generally use coarse sand called "road gravel" for this portion.

"Will [Heritage Home Works Lead Carpenter] did an excellent job. Schedule conflicted with rain delays pushed into a time when we were out of town…Heritage Home Works handled [the situation] very well and kept my friends who were house sitting very informed."

~Alex K.

"From beginning to end, this project has been well orchestrated and the results are spectacular. Kyle [Heritage Home Works Lead Carpenter] was a pleasure to work with. His attention to detail is excellent. He also was great at listening to my concerns and wishes and melding them with his expertise. I would gladly recommend this company to anyone."

~Suzanne C.

"Thanks for the great job you all did with the new siding, egress windows and patio! Everyone, including the subcontractors were all very friendly…I have gotten lots of comments from people who think the completed projects look great and I love it! Thanks!"

~Elaine B.

"We couldn’t have asked for a better crew. They were most considerate, given the fact that we lived among the construction. Very satisfied with the final appearance and function of the remodel and addition. So nice to be able to communicate via text and email."

~Wilmer and Alvera T.

“Heritage Home Works did a FANTASTIC job on the installation of the windows. How did they earn that compliment? I’m basing it on the experience I’d had a few years ago with Lowe’s replacing the windows on the south side. They did a terrible job with the caulk, the finish… I had to have my painter come back and fix all that. The fit, finish, quality and stuff Dan’s crew did well. It just looked like it’s supposed to be done.”

~Doug F.

"I am very happy with the work that was done, and… felt blessed to have had Dan and his crew doing the remodel. I would definitely recommend Heritage Home Works to people I know. I would gladly show their work to any one who asks."

~Carolyn K.

"We hired Heritage Home Works to build an addition on our home. Dan and his crew were great to work with. They had really good ideas to help us with planning our addition. We were very pleased with the finished project, at a cost we could afford. We would definitely hire them again."

~Phil and Gail T.

"Having several homes built for us over the past thirty years, we have discovered how important it is to have a builder with integrity and high quality standards. It is because of these attributes and the ease of working with Dan Harder that we highly recommend Heritage Home Works for any construction project, whether it is new construction or remodeling."
