The door leads to the pantry and was re-purposed from an old front door that was removed. It is a pocket door, so it was an interesting challenge to make the door work in pocket door track that was made for smaller doors.
MODERN APPEAL
This entire kitchen has a complete new look with quartz countertops in Taj Milan surrounded by Shiloh cabinetry with inset doors and drawers.
This is an expanded view showing the door to the mud room – which we all know is the second hardest working room in the farmhouse!
The hutch on the left-hand side was moved from its old location and re-finished to be used in the new dining room. The bottom drawer was always known as the "toy drawer". It was interesting to look at all the marks on it, and it would be very interesting if it could only tell its stories. Mention this when speaking with us so that we know you were looking at all the details of our story.
In addition to the renovated rooms is the new basement access.
Updating the home
EFFICIENT USE OF SPACE
We created a computer nook and office area with additional storage taking advantage of the 9' ceilings. The bathroom door is to the right, and farther to the right is the lockers for storage of shoes, bookbags, and coats.
Welcome to the childhood home of Heritage Home Works. We finished this kitchen remodel and home renovation by painting the exterior of the home. This traditional four-square home was built in 1908 and added onto shortly there-after. This home had steel siding installed back in the 50's, but it didn't hold paint. Back around 2012, Heritage Home Works removed the old siding and resided the home with LP Smart Siding and trim, and re-installed the old window/door trim details that the home was built with, but had been removed when re-sided in the 50's. The roof curvature and window/door trim detail are common in the four-square home design. This home has now had 5 generations of Harders living in it!
